About Us

Katie of Trades was created for the utilization of the many skills that I am able to perform. I realized that these varying skills were not always used within the same industry, so I wanted to make a way for multiple uses and services to be accessible from one place. I wanted to learn more skills and be a "Jack of many trades" while also being a master of them. Growing up I had a lot of energy, so my mom raised me to want to learn, and learn as much as I could. In doing this she raised me to be a hard working professional who enjoyed learning many skills from different lines of trades.

Not all skills are used in one specific trade, and that's perfectly alright! You can still utilize these skills to help others succeed!
I originally started in the web designing industry in high school. Learning how to code, and create pages for websites. Once I graduated I took this knowledge and continued to learn it on my own time because I found it fun, now still being able to use the skills, I offer my services to new businesses to help them grow their business at an affordable rate, compared to larger companies.
After high school I went into culinary school at the Art Institute of Tampa. Graduating with honors and an associates degree in Culinary arts, and Baking & Pastry arts, I took these skills that weren’t all always used in the restaurant industry and started catering on my own.
After a tragic accident in 2016, I wasn’t able to work in the field of the restaurant industry with 12 hour days anymore. I was still able to do the skills needed but often not for long periods of time, which is why catering and order filling was much easier for me.
Going into the corporate industry I realized I still had all the skills needed for the other jobs but working in an office building, it rarely got used. So the phrase “use it of lose it” came to mind. So this site was created. Constantly learning new skills and adding them as I go along will be a commitment of mine to all my clients.

While working in the corporate world after my accident, I also created a place to learn about service animals. Wanting to make it easier for those who do not know much, about service animals, to have a safe (scam free) place to get the knowledge they needed, when my Trades business was slow.
